College Admissions Consulting

College admissions is fiercely competitive. In 2015, a record-breaking 116,000 students applied for just 16,000 slots at UCLA. Top-ranked institutions like Yale, Duke, and Vanderbilt will give you an outstanding education, but their acceptance rates have been steadily declining. Vanderbilt admitted 40% of applicants in 2005, but only 11% were accepted in 2015. And the most elite schools have rates hovering well under 10%–Stanford admitted only 5.05% of applicants. Even less selective colleges are growing increasingly competitive. Ohio’s University of Dayton admitted 81.9% of applicants a decade ago, but their acceptance rate has plummted 30% in 10 years to 53%. Getting admitted to colleges is now more difficult than ever.

This means you may bring to the table excellent grades and standardized test scores, an impressive resume of awards and achievements, and unusual excellence in distinctive interests such as music or sports. But your competition is just as strong. How can you differentiate yourself?

College admissions can feel like it’s all about the numbers: test scores, number of applicants, available spots in the incoming class. But getting admitted by your dream school can often come down to something beyond the numbers–the real uniqueness that you communicate through your essays, interviews, and application as a whole.

Admitify can help you deep-dive into your personal experiences to discover and bring to life your singular story (everyone has a story only they can tell). This story—your story—will come alive in your essays and interviews–across your application—sparking a connection with admissions officers and delivering your acceptance email.

The author of six books on admissions, including Perfect Phrases for Letters of Recommendation, Paul can help you share your unique story and showcase the authentic and relatable you.

Beyond helping you communicate your unique story, Paul and his team can help you identify the schools that best match your personality, interests, and personal goals, whether they are ‘reach’, ‘target’, or ‘safety’ schools.

Drawing on his experience, research, and insights into college admission, Paul will address all your questions and concerns, removing the stress of the admissions process and working personally with you to get to know you, your challenges, and your dreams. Paul has your back!

Here’s what some happy clients had to say:

  • “I wanted to thank you for your help with [Name]’s essays. As you know, they were a success! His early acceptance to Yale [College] pleased all of us, and most especially him. Hope your year is going well. Our thanks, again.” …
  • “I am accepted by Wake!!! Dear Paul: I just knew that I am accepted by Wake Forest University [undergrad]! They actually mailed me the letter on December XXth, but I could not receive them because I was in [home country]. Thank you so much for your hard work and care about Wake! I am so thankful!!! My parents also want me to say thank you to you! Thank you so much! Yours,” …
  • “[Name] got into the [undergraduate] engineering programs (more difficult admissions) at University of Washington, UC San Diego, Tufts, Boston University, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara…. [Name] chose UC San Diego yesterday, after visiting all the schools that offered him admission. He is very happy with his choice, as UCSD has one of the best computer engineering programs in the country. So, until we have grandkids, we’re done! But we’ll certainly recommend you to friends, family and neighbors with kids on the college path. We couldn’t have done it without you, and thanks again for all your help.”…
