3 Questions with Admitify MBA Consultant Alex Nascimento

Alex Nascimento has been working with business school applicants since 2010, helping clients earn admission to such elite business schools as Harvard, Stanford GSB, Wharton, Chicago Booth, MIT Sloan, Columbia Business School, INSEAD, London Business School, Duke Fuqua, NYU Stern, and Yale SOM. In 2015-16 alone, Alex’s Admitify clients have earned admission to Chicago Booth, Kellogg, MIT Sloan, Columbia Business School, Michigan Ross, Virginia Darden, NYU Stern, Cornell, UCLA, Washington Foster, and Rochester Simon, among others.

Originally from Brazil, Alex earned his MBA from UCLA, which he chose over Chicago Booth and London Business School. In addition to admissions consulting, Alex is the co-founder 7MarketingMediaCom Corp. of Santa Monica, CA, and a marketing instructor at UCLA Extension. I recently asked Alex about his own MBA experience:

Why did you decide to get an MBA?

“I decided to get my MBA because I was afraid my career would become very limited to the LATAM market, and I wanted a career that would have a global focus in the long run. At the time I was working in Brazil as a Marketing Consultant and realized that getting an MBA from a Global TOP 20 Program would allow me to leverage my background and experience to further my career as an International Marketing Strategist & Consultant. As a result, I was fortunate to meet a consultant at the time who helped me with my essays and application, and consequently I got accepted at my top choice school, UCLA Anderson, which opened many doors nationally and internationally for my career.”

What’s the greatest value you gained from your MBA?

“The greatest value I gained from my experience at UCLA Anderson was the access to a network of alums that spreads all over the globe, including experts and C-Level executives in every major industry and company. Since Day 1 of the program until today I have had a seamless and easy access to the network whenever needed. Furthermore, UCLA Anderson continues to provide me with additional educational opportunities through all the events, keynotes and webinars available for alums to remain at the cutting edge of business and management topics.”

How valuable has your MBA network been to you?

“I would say the UCLA Anderson Alumni network has been an essential component of my current success. Through the network I was invited to lecture in several courses on Marketing Strategy at UCLA, as well as receiving constant leads for my business and having access to experts and high profile executives in basically every industry. Moreover, being part of the Alumni Network of UCLA Anderson also gives me access to events and gatherings of other TOP 20 MBA Programs, which results in endless possibilities for networking and business development. Consequently, I highly recommend an internationally recognized MBA Program to anyone who is looking to fast-track or pivot their careers.”
