Wharton’s 1st Global Cohort for Their Executive MBA

Today we are spotlighting Wharton’s unique Global MBA program for executives, which is launching its first-ever global cohort in May 2023.

The Global MBA program is an executive MBA that will be a 25% in-person and 75% live online experience taught by the same Wharton professors who teach all Wharton MBAs. Students in the first cohort will consist of business professionals from all over the world including Asia, Europe, North and South America and will embark on the 22-month program from wherever they are located.

The Wharton executive MBA has a history of evolution beginning in 1975 on the Philadelphia campus and expanding to Wharton San Francisco with its first cohort in 2002. Virtual instruction takes place in early morning or late evening hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time, so students can participate in a live online classroom setting from multiple different time zones. In addition to the online experience, students will spend significant time together in person during “residential weeks,” at Wharton’s Philadelphia and San Francisco campuses. The program will also have several international learning trips. Students receive support from concierge-style classroom managers, have direct regular contact with senior faculty and access to Wharton’s global network of 104,000 alumni––the largest of any business school in the world.

Wharton’s MBA Program for Executives today educates more than 230 professionals each year, which offers the same academic rigor and faculty as Wharton’s full-time MBA program. Peggy Bishop Lane, vice dean of Wharton’s MBA Program for Executives says, “faculty will customize their class materials to meet the unique needs of a new Global cohort…and we are making investments in new technologies to enhance the virtual experience and engage students in and out of the classroom…a priority of this program is for students to form the strong relationships that are a hallmark of the Wharton executive MBA experience.”
