As the Round 1 admissions deadlines approach the 5-week mark, you need to plan ahead to ensure all your application elements (essays, recommendation letters, application data section, resumes, etc.) reach the finish line at the same time – with room to spare. Here’s a sample timeline for an MBA applicant targeting a Round 2 (January) deadline so you can see how much on-ramp a careful coach team gives her applicant:

• September 15: Admitify Coach sends high-level outline/structure for SCHOOL 1 essays based on questionnaire and calls.
• September 18: Applicant gives his/her approval on high-level outline for SCHOOL 1; Admitify Coach begins fleshing it out into full-fledged outline.
• September 18-Oct. 1: Applicant has conversations with his/her recommenders, gaining their agreement to write enthusiastic letters of support and providing them with guidance documents to help them write strong letters.
• September 20: Admitify Coach sends full-fledged SCHOOL 1 outline to Applicant.
• September 25: Applicant sends rough draft of SCHOOL 1 essay.
• September 27 – October 15: Admitify Coach and Applicant iterate on SCHOOL 1 essay every 2 to 5 days, sharpening its content, length, and tone so that by October 15 it is 90% (or more) done.
• October 16: Admitify Coach provides Applicant with outline for SCHOOL 2 essay 1 based on SCHOOL 1 essay and begins work on outline for SCHOOL 2 essay 2. Applicant begins working on data section of SCHOOL 1 application.
• October 18: Admitify Coach sends Applicant outline for SCHOOL 2 essay 2.
• October 23: Applicant sends rough draft of SCHOOL 2 essays. Applicant sends Admitify Coach rough draft of SCHOOL 1 application data section.
• October 23 – November 10: Admitify Coach and Applicant iterate on SCHOOL 2 essays and SCHOOL 1 application data section every 2 to 5 days, sharpening their content, length, and tone so that by November 10 they are 90% (or more) done.
• November 13: Admitify Coach sends Applicant outlines for SCHOOL 3 essays. Applicant sends Admitify Coach Stanford version of SCHOOL 1 application data section.
• November 15: Applicant or Admitify Coach receives rough draft of letters from Applicant’s recommenders and provides feedback on improvement. Applicant sends Admitify Coach rough draft of SCHOOL 3 essays and version of application data section.
• December 10 – December 14: Final reviews of SCHOOL 1, 2, and 3 essays and data sections.
• December 14: SCHOOL 1, SCHOOL 2, and SCHOOL 3 applications are done.
• December 14 – January 3: Applicant may/may not share their revised recommendation letters drafts with Admitify Coach for improvement. Recommenders submit their letters online.
• January 3 (or earlier): Applicant submits SCHOOL 1, 2, and 3 applications.
