Kellogg MBA’s New Admissions Team

The Northwestern Kellogg MBA program recently introduced two new leaders, Emily Haydon, assistant dean of admissions and financial aid, and Crystal Fazal, director of diversity admissions.  In addition, Kellogg also announced two promotions: Steve Thompson, now senior director of admissions for the full-time programs, and Dustin Saunders, now senior director of admissions for the executive and evening & weekend programs.

Emily Haydon joined Kellogg in 2016 and through 2019 was the director and later senior director of admissions for the Evening & Weekend MBA Program.  During her time in the E&W program, enrollment experienced double-digit growth and the Executive MBA program had its largest cohort in 2020.  She had also been serving as assistant dean of admissions on an interim basis since September 2021.

Crystal Fazal received her MBA through Kellogg’s Executive MBA Program in 2008.  Her background prior to her new role as director of diversity admissions was in several sales and marketing leadership roles at The Coca-Cola Company and MillerCoors.  She also served as an adjunct professor of marketing and communications at DePaul University and an executive coach at Fast Forward Group.  In her time at Fast Forward Group she was the lead facilitator for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workshops.

Steve Thompson joined Kellogg in 2018 as the director of the Executive MBA Program at the Miami campus and led the team to grow cohort sizes, expand the campus, and return students back to in-person instruction during the pandemic.  Prior to Kellogg, he served as the executive director of the full-time MBA program at IE Business School in Madrid, leading the program through change initiatives including a complete redesign of the MBA program.

Dustin Saunders joined Kellogg in 2016 as the assistant director of admissions for the Executive MBA program.  He became the associate director of admissions in 2018 and director of Executive MBA admissions in 2019.  In his new role, he oversees the admissions teams, operations, and overall strategy for the working professionals’ programs across the Chicago, Evanston and Miami campuses.
