Business School Essay Release Timing

Business School Essay Release Timing

This is that awkward time of year when many applicants are raring to get started on their MBA applications but only a few of their schools have released the essay prompts they need to really get started. For example, among the top 20 U.S. programs, thus far only Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, and UNC Kenan-Flagler have released their essay questions for 2016-17. Each released their essay questions on more or less the same date as last year. The remaining top 20 schools are likely to follow suit—soon. To help you plan your admission campaign, here then are the dates on which the other elite MBA programs released their essay prompts last year (give or take a day or two):

MIT Sloan: May 18
Michigan Ross: May 20
Yale SOM: May 24
Texas McCombs: Late May
Wharton June 1
Dartmouth Tuck: June 9
NYU Stern: June 11
UVA Darden: June 16
Emory Goizueta: June 16
Duke Fuqua: June 23
Chicago Booth: July 4
Kellogg: July 8
CMU Tepper: July 21
Cornell: July 23
UCLA Anderson: July 31

Hopefully, this list will help you plan your coming admissions campaign. Reach out if you’d like our help.
