In addition, the Executive MBA Council (EMBAC) released results of its 2021 membership program survey, featuring trends in executive education. Of note, 89% of schools in the 2021 report offered a form of distance learning compared to only 55% two years ago in 2019. Michael Desiderio, executive director of the EMBAC, noted that the global pandemic drove exceptional acceleration of technology innovation and adaptability for its member programs. Survey results also showed the average number of applications received per program expanded by 17% in 2021 compared to 2020, representing increased interest after the initial year of the pandemic. In addition (and notable for Women’s History month), the percentage of women enrolled in EMBA programs reached its highest mark ever in 2021 at 33%. Finally, approximately 60% of executive programs offered scholarships or fellowships and almost one-third of EMBA students received scholarships or fellowships.
