Michael received a bachelors from Brown University and an MBA from New York University’s Stern Graduate School of Business, where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. He began his career as an institutional investor and was appointed as the nation’s first Financial Markets Expert-in-Residence at the U.S. Department of Labor. At the end of his tenure, he turned to academia and honed his skills working with students as a Finance Professor at Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, and University of Maryland, where he was a three-time winner of the annual Distinguished Teaching Award. Convinced that he had a better way to inspire students, Michael left academia to pursue educational filmmaking, becoming an internationally distributed filmmaker. Besides screenplays, Michael has also published a book on finance that won Honorable Mention in the American Society of Journalists and Authors’ 2013 Outstanding Book Awards, and has written numerous OpEd pieces on education and business. Michael is a member of The Writers Guild of America, The Dramatists Guild of America, The Authors Guild, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and The National Press Club.
